Stay at Penha Longa
We’ve reserved a block of rooms at Penha Longa for the weekend. It’s where everything happens, from the moment you arrive on Thursday to the last dance on Saturday.

Everything in one place
Every event takes place on the resort’s grounds. On Friday, that’s the Haldi and the Sangeet. On Saturday, it’s the Hindu ceremony, lunch in the monastery gardens, the Catholic ceremony in the estate’s sixteenth-century chapel, then cocktails and the reception in the monastery. Once you’ve checked in, you won’t need a car until it’s time to go home.
The resort
- A long history. Penha Longa was founded as a monastery in 1355 and later became a summer retreat for the Portuguese royal family. The monastery, chapel and gardens are still the heart of the estate.
- A protected setting. It’s the only hotel inside the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, among wooded hills between Sintra and the Atlantic coast.
- Dining. Seven restaurants and bars, including the Michelin-starred LAB by Sergi Arola and Midori.
- Downtime. A spa a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, outdoor pools, tennis courts, and a 27‑hole golf course.
Good to know
